Abstract: In every short story, novel, or drama, there are characters. Characters have very important role in developing the plot of the story and also learn more on how people act they do, and sometimes, by what others say about them. The aims of this research are to finds out the protagonist and antagonist character of a drama text. Moreover, this research finds out the relationship between the salesman and his sons. The writer analyzes the characters by analyzing the dialogues to determine the protagonist, antagonist, and the relationship between the salesman and his sons. A qualitative research or library research is used and the data is taken from the quotation of the dialogues. The finding of this research proves that Linda and Happy characters are protagonist. And the characters Willy and Biff are antagonist. Furthermore, this research finds out that the relationship between the salesman and Biff, as his first sons is inharmonious and not well. This is different with his relationship with his other son, Happy, which the relationship works well and harmonious
