| Abstract: | In paper, the writer conducted a study concerning mastery level of noun clauses. The problems of the research are; what is the mastery level of the intermediate level students at LIA English Course in using noun clauses and what kinds of understanding do the students have in comprehending English noun clauses. The objectives of this study are to find out the percentage of mastery level of the intermediate level students at LIA English Course and to find out the errors made by the students. The findings of this study are: the mastery level of the intermediate level students at LIA English Course is failing or unsatisfactory, the percentage of the mastery is only 31.6%. It is categorized as grade E, which means failing or unsatisfactory. The percentage of error that the students made is 68.4%. It can be concluded that the students still have difficulties in terms of mastering non clauses. The kinds of the students comprehensives in using English noun clause are: the most of students are able to apply noun clause in term of question and expression. But in applying the other kind of noun clause, such as statement, command, exclamation, interrogative, and position in indirect object, the students still have many difficulties. |
