| Abstract: | The aims of this thesis are to know how effective application of Direct Method by using games in teaching English vocabulary to young learners, and to find out the more effective game in teaching English vocabulary to young learners to the fourth grade primary students at ELP Wisma Jaya, Bekasi. The writer uses Direct Method as her technique and Repeated-Measures Design as her research design in quantitative data. The writer has also taught the students by using both techniques for three days; in the last meeting the writer gives the test of questionnaires to collect the data of the research. Based on the analysis of the data, the writer found that teaching English vocabulary by using game „run and write‟ to the fourth grade primary students at ELP Wisma Jaya, Bekasi is more effective than teaching English vocabulary by using game „telling the whispered‟. The percentage of game „Run and Write‟ is higher than the percentage of game „Telling the Whispered‟, which are the percentage of game „Run and Write‟ is 85.50% and the percentage of game „Telling the Whispered‟ is 82.50%. |
