Abstract: In this research, the writer conducted a study concerning a semiotics study entitled A Comparative Study on the Meaning of Colors in Minang and British Cultures: A Semiotics Study. The problems of the research are: What are the meanings of colors red, black, white, yellow, green and blue in Minang and British cultures. This research aims at describing and giving an overview of the meaning of colors red, black, white, yellow, green and blue in Minang and British cultures. The study was using a qualitative method, and the researcher selected a technique of interpretive descriptive to the data. The writer described and analyzed the meanings of colors in Minang and British cultures. The result shows that there are similarities and differences between the meanings of colors in the two cultures.
