THE NEGATIVE TRANSFERS OF ENGLISH COLLOCATIONS WRITTEN BY THE STUDENTS OF GUNADARMA UNIVERSITY

Abstract

In writing, the use of right words is needed to make people understand the messages precisely. The unnatural and unacceptable languages happen when the English Foreign Language (EFL) students try to express the ideas with the collocation. For example I need to fix the problem immediately so the situation will be normal again. The collocation fix the problem in the sentence I need to fix the problem immediately so the situation will be normal again is incorrect. The right collocation is solve the problem. To make good English and prevent the unnatural languages, EFL students have to use the right collocation.
