THE TRANSLATION OF IMPLICIT MEANING OF ENGLISH PERSONAL PRONOUNS INTO INDONESIAN : A SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS”

Abstract

This thesis is entitled The Translation of Implicit Meaning of English Personal Pronouns Into Indonesia : A Situational Analysis. The object of the analyses are sentences containing implicit meaning in the novel “Gosh Girl” and Indonesian version “Jadied; Tangisan Tanpa Suara. The sentences with implicit meanings are taken as data, and analyzed using descriptive and comparative methods. The writer only took 161 good data from the novel. The aims of this thesis is to understand student about translation the implicit meaning accuratelly. The result of this thesis shows that in translating implicit meaning English personal pronouns into Indonesian should pay attention about Etiquette in society or target language, so that translator have to use three parameters: age, familiarity and then social status.
