| Abstract: | Railway development in Indonesia has open a new chapter following issuance of new act, Law number 23 / 2007 on Railway. The implementation of Law number 23/2007 requires common understanding on the objective of national railway development. National Railway System s vision is developed through meticulous study of two acts on railway -Law no 13/1992 and Law no 23/2007- using law and technical approach. The main theme of the new law is railway market liberalization. Its purposes are to increase service level and professionalism, as well as to support national and regional development in general. National Railway System can be envisage as multi operators, in line with regional autonomy, professional, with enough support on development of domestic technology and human resources development. |
