| Abstract: | Most of applications development require data storage are not in relational form. The existence of NoSQL database keeps the users more careful in the selection of database that appropriate for application needs. This paper will discuss the comparison of Cassandra and MongoDB. The parameters used for comparison of Cassandra and MongoDB are features, integrity, distribution, the architecture needs, concurrency, and performance. The computers with similar specifications used to compare the two databases. The comparison results almost similar except the use of query languages, database models and searching text. Both of databases NoSQL almost have the same data integrity except in data isolation. Cassandra and MongoDB have similarities in the system needs and distribution. MongoDB's best used for users who need a dynamic query, defining more than one index on an entity, requiring good performance on large databases. Cassandra's best used for users who do more writing than reading, and if each system component must be created in Java programming. Cassandra suitable for applications that unable handling lost data, even when data center down. Cassandra can easily add nodes automatically for alomost unlimitted storing data. While MongoDB needs to administer database for adding node, set up replication but not too complex. |
