RACISM AS FORM OF PREJUDICE IN HARPER LEE�S TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD

Abstract

The aim of this study is to find the forms of prejudice in the novel To Kill a Mockingbird. What are the forms of prejudice and why prejudice can be happen on the story. The writer also analyzed the causes and effects of prejudice. The writer used the theory about prejudice from many sources and matched with the data from the novel. The writer read the novel accurately in order to found the causes and effects of prejudice based on the characters, actions, dialogues, and events in the novel. After analyzed the data, the writer has classified into three parts for the result. They are the characteristics of prejudice, the causes and effects of prejudice in the novel.
