ANALYSIS OF FACTORS AFFECTING FINANCIAL REPORTING TIMELINESS IN BANKING COMPANY OF INDONESIA LISTED

Abstract

The financial report is a summary of accounting data and financial condition of a company consisting of the consolidated net profit / loss, changes in capital, balance sheet, and cash flow at a certain time to be communicated periodically to the user to meet various needs. The financial statements are one source of information that is often used by users offinancial statements in the context of decision making. The information would be helpful if presented accurately and on time, otherwise the information becomes obsolete when can no longer provide benefit. Therefore the company is expected to not delay the reporting of information that can lead to reduced benefits. The population is listed banking companies in Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) in the year 2006-2009. The research sample 21 companies selected by purposive sampling method. With a four-year observation period. Secondary data obtained were analyzed using logistic regression analysis. The purpose of this research was to obtain empirical evidence that the factors of each banking company listed on the BEI as a gearing ratio, profitability, solvability, company size, company age, and public ownership affect the timeliness of financial reporting at the corporate banking listed in the Stock Exchange during the period 2006-2009. Results from this research gearing, profitability, solvability, company size, company age, and public ownership to significantly affect the timeliness of financial reporting.
