KAJIAN ABSURDITAS DALAM NOVEL “ORANG ANEH” KARYA ALBERT CAMUS

Abstract

Absurdity is a term that was created by the formerly Albert Camus. Some experts of absurdity who had found it were Sartre and Heidegger, but before it had changed into absurdity, it was extensialism once. Then Albert Camus developed it became absurdity, This novel “ The Stranger” tells about a character whose name is Mersault. He has a great life that may be close to perfect life. Instead of thanking his life to God, he thinks that his life is useless and so boring. Till he shoots someone using a gun, and be taken to the jail to have sentence of death, he finally realizes that his life was so good. But it was too late, because everything now is so absurd, nothing good is left for him.
