Abstract

Woman languages that may be found in this “Trifles” drama are: Question Tag, gossip, lexical hedges, interruption and feedback that are uttered by woman character in this drama. All of those languages have proved that the different language that is used by man and woman will show their gender, status, and also their daily activity. The story in this drama is the “mirror” of the society, just like what we have known that literary works contents many things from them. And the woman language in this drama is also the “mirror” of woman language in the real life. So it is clear that the using of language will identify the power between genders.
