KEARIFAN LOKAL YANG TERKANDUNG DALAM SASTRA MISTIK JAWA

Abstract

The aim of this research is intended as an attempt to disclose the meaning of local wisdom value and its relevance to the context of modernity. The meaning and the relevance will be analyzed according to the notion of Javananese Mystical Literature. This research is useful to actualize mystical transformation, especially for Javanese ethics to face the problems of contemporary human life. The concept of Javanese mystical literature in this research is analyzed by philosophy of religion approach. The following methods are applied in this research, that are historical continuity, analysis and synthesis, interpretation, and description. Results of this research show that value of local wisdom contained in Javanese mystical literature relate to the attempt to formulate the religion meaning for Javanese as reflected in their life in the form of ethics. The local wisdoms found in Javanese mystical literature were influenced by Sufism (Islamic mysticism). The local wisdoms are intended to realize the unification of man with God, brotherhood among the people, and harmony with nature.
