| Abstract: | The impact of information technology (IT) adoption on firms’ activities has been assessed in many studies. Measures of the benefits are commonly grouped into three categories: efficiency, effectiveness, and competitiveness. However, there is little empirical evidence that the adoption of IT innovation is capable of creating benefits and competitiveness for very small firms (i.e those employing below five people). This study investigated the impact of the adoption of Electronic Fund Transfer at Point of Sale (EFTPOS) on the activities of very small firms in high-technology region of Australia. A survey approach was used to gather data from 300 small firms. |
