Abstract: The process of desalination is a process of purification of sea water into fresh water by distillation method. In the desalination process required heat obtained from exhaust gas temperature of 170 0C PLTGU with that are not released into the atmosphere. The exhaust gas flowed into the brine heater that serves as a heat exchanger. Sea water temperature up to 113 0C after passing through the brine heater and will be at capacity in the flash chamber and then water vapor will condense and be collected in the distillation tank. For the brine will be accommodated in the brine tank. In the desalination unit has been carried out thermodynamic analysis by calculating heat flow rate into the flash evaporator, heat flow rate into the brine heater, heat flow rate out the brine chamber, heat flow rate out destilate and determine the efficiency thermal desalination unit showed that the desalination unit has a total heat flow rate (ΣQout) at 22.29 MW, the total heat flow rate (ΣQin) at 13.25 MW. To obtained value of thermal efficiency of the desalination unit is 59.44 %.
